Welcome to StarQuest!!!

At Stargate, we believe that methodologies should be used as guidelines by experienced practitioners and not as a rigid control framework that leaves little room for movement. Our Project Management professionals are encouraged to continuously improve our methodology, processes and tools. Many of these enhancements find their way back into StarQuest to benefit all clients.

The overall StarQuest project roadmap is closely aligned to PMI PMBOK. There are four basic project phases as shown below:

StarQuest has well defined processes, tools and templates for each of these phases. Some of the more critical ones are:

Project Initiation

  • Business Case and/or Feasibility Study – perhaps you have already completed these important tasks or you would like a Stargate consultant to assist you with this.
  • Project Charter – this defines the overall vision and project organisation
  • Appoint the project team – here we defines roles and responsibilities and assign individuals to these.

Project Planning

  • Create a project plan – most importantly this includes the work breakdown structure and schedule;
  • Create a resource plan – what roles, capabilities and experiences are required and when;
  • Create a quality plan – this will define how we measure the quality of the final deliverables;
  • Create a risk management plan – this will detail how project risks will me mitigated/managed jointly.
  • Create an acceptance plan – this defines the final acceptance criteria which you, the client, will use as your final sign-off upon delivery.

Project Execution

  • Build and Test deliverables – the code development and testing phases;
  • UAT – this is where you get to test the deliverable against the above specified acceptance criteria;
  • Implementation & Integration – this is where the solution is implemented in its final production environment and fully integrated into any existing applications;
  • End user training – if users need to be trained in the solution’s use;
  • Optimisation – we look at how well the final solution works in real life and perform any fine-tuning to further optimise day-to-day operations.

 Project Closure

  • Create the project Completion Report – final close out report;
  • Project Performance – we measure the project against our own criteria and identify any potential areas of improvement to the StarQuest methodology.
